Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run, formerly known as Pepsi Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run is a free skills competition that provides boys and girls, ages seven to 14, the opportunity to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities.
Winners can advance through four levels of competition, including team championship events at the 30 major league parks and the national finals at the MLB All-Star Game in New York City.
The local competition takes place at the ball diamonds at Collegiate School (49 Collegiate Ave.) Saturday, May 17. Registration is at noon.
Children participate in their own age category (7/8, 9/10, 11/12 and 13/14). Kids from Stoney Creek, Grimsby, East Hamilton and Glanbrook are welcome to attend this event.
Children from other areas of the city can participate in the event at Robert Land Community Association on Wentworth Street North by calling (905) 526-1558.
