‘Pronounced deceased’: Pedestrian dead in Burlington after being struck by GO train April 23, afternoon commute impacted

“Pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Const. Jeff Dillon said in an email to Inside Halton.

Initial reports indicate the pedestrian was on the tracks at the time, Dillon added.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.

Some Lakeshore West trains were cancelled; however, scheduled trains are slowly beginning to move through the area.

“As emergency personnel work to finish their investigation, customers may experience some minor delays as trains move slower through the area,” Metrolinx said in an update Tuesday afternoon.
