
Stoney Creek opened the scoring in the top of the second inning scoring eight runs. Ancaster’s Stefan Cascioli had a RBI in the bottom of the second to get his team on the board.
Ancaster then chipped away at Stoney Creek’s lead in the bottom of the fourth when Ty Wilson and Mark Szostak each had RBI singles.
The Creekers scored two more runs in the top of the fifth to extend their lead but Ancaster again chipped away at the lead with four runs in the bottom of the fifth. Ancaster then tied the score with three runs on five hits, which was highlighted by a two-run RBI triple by Szostak.
In the top of the seventh inning, Stoney Creek scored three times.
Two of the runs, which included the eventual game winning run, came when Tyler Kamphuis hit a two-run RBI double.
For Stoney Creek, Max Hicks went five innings allowing four earned runs on four hits and struck out nine batters.
Billy Ferguson had four singles and a walk in his five plate appearances.
For Ancaster, Mark Szoztak had a single, a triple and three RBIs while Danny Davies also had a single, a triple and the RBI to send the game to the extra inning.
