As youth return to regular Beaver, Cub, Scout, Venturer and Rover meetings across Fruitbelt Area, they also begin their biggest fund-raising campaign of the year: popcorn sales.
Youth, leaders and parents will be canvassing across the area for popcorn sales. A variety of popcorn products are available including traditional and microwavable popcorn as well as tins of delicious ready-to-eat popcorn confections. Most of the money raised by sales will remain in the area much for the use of individual groups. The money may be used to help decrease registration costs, especially for multi-youth families or for programming or camping equipment. When a Scout calls, please seriously consider making a purchase.
Scouting is available to boys and girls of all ages, beginning with Beavers for five to seven year old boys and girls. For youth aged eight to 10 there is the Cub program. Scouts, the original section, covers ages 11 to 13. For older youth there is the Venturing section (14 to 17) and for young adults, Rovering (18 to 26). There is even an organization for previous members, leaders and friends who would like to help out without making a weekly commitment. Contact sharon@fodoweb.ca.
