Stoney Creek Chartered Accountant and prominent business leader Giacomo Angelini, CA, has been elected president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario's Hamilton District CA Association. The District Association is the CA profession's local presence and organizes activities that benefit local chartered accountants and the community at large.
In addition to helping to serve, represent and provide fellowship among local CAs, the District Association also helps bring the Institute's many programs to its members and helps organize their contribution to important CA community events such as tax clinics for people with low incomes.
Mr. Angelini is a manager with Deloitte & Touche LLP in the firm's national office based out of Toronto, where he deals with Canadian and U.S. securities filings, offerings and related issues. A CA since 2005, he's a McMaster University graduate who was the 2003 Ontario Gold Medalist for achieving the highest mark in the CA profession's rigorous Uniform Evaluation (UFE). His community volunteer activities include running the Free CA Tax Clinics in the Hamilton region during 2006 and 2007, as well as working at various not-for-profit agencies during Deloitte's annual Impact Day.
"The District Association in the Hamilton District is a strong voice for local Chartered Accountants and a real asset for our community," said Mr. Angelini. "I'm proud to be the DA president."
"The CA profession is in the forefront of our province's economy, and important to communities of all types and sizes," said Brian Hunt, FCA, president and CEO of the Institute. "We believe that strong district associations help build and strengthen the CA designation and our profession's contribution to Ontario's prosperity."
