Last Friday, St. Francis Xavier Catholic elementary school Grade 7 students Alyssa Sultana and Makayla Gemin had their hair cut for Locks of Love, a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss. The students had been growing their hair for three years for the cause. The school also raised money for student Taylor Beraldo, who has Niemann-Pick Type C, a rare metabolic disorder for which there is no cure. Pictured here, left to right, Alyssa and Makayla show off their freshly cut locks.
