Celebrate, remember, fight back
Last Friday evening, the 2010 Hamilton Wentworth Relay for Life was held at Dofasco Park. Held from 7 p. m. Friday to 7 a. m. Saturday, the 12-hour overnight event is meant to signify that cancer never sleeps. Here, Tonya Ballantyne of the Fireflies holds up a photo of her mom, Lyn Beasley, who passed away in October 2008 of ovarian cancer. Pictured left of Tonya is her nana Joan Frayne, a 30-year-cancer survivor. To her right is her cousin Tammy Romikat.
