The team was undefeated all day, until losing a close match for the gold. The team will travel to OFSAA in Barrie March 8-10. The team beat Waterdown District High School Feb. 23 to win the HWIAC senior girls volleyball championship. Saltfleet won three sets to one, keeping intact an undefeated season. Carlin McLean and Taylor Black are among six players looking to end their high school basketball careers on a high note. 204451 Fun at Eastgate Square Smudge Fundaes 204474 Out of the Cold The St. Clare of Assisi Catholic elementary school community helped those less fortunate by donating gently used coats, hats, boots and blankets during January. This was an Out of the Cold Campaign, working with a charity called Blankets of Love. Last month, teachers Annamarie Altobelli, Dianna France and Linda Spadafora and parent Kim Wardell spent time in the downtown core of Hamilton distributing all that was collected to those less fortunate. This month’s campaign will include the collection of gently used clothes to help those in Stoney Creek. Students brought in two caterpillars for the class to observe. Both caterpillars formed a cocoon and the class waited ... and waited... and waited... Eventually the box was put on a side shelf. Then, at the end of last month, a student noticed a white moth fluttering about in the box. It was white with black freckles. They named it Crystal. The Warriors outshot the Blades 36-26. Chris Miniaci and Matt Sagrott shared duties in net, with Miniaci picking up the win, turning away 17 of 21 shots. The cast, made up of students from grades nine to 12, performed the play recently at the Sears Drama Festival and picked up the Distinctive Merit for Ensemble Performance Award.
