Run for Haiti
St. Charles Adult Education Centres Main Street East location ESL instructor Kyle Maga ran recently to raise money for Haiti disaster relief. Starting at the centres’ Barlake Avenue location, the Boston and New York City marathon runner made his way to all of the centres’ locations, where he collected donations from staff and students. The event raised $4,455. “All of the centres like to come together as a community whenever there’s a problem, so by going to each centre, they can show their support,” said the 35-year-old. “I’ve had Haitian students in the past and when things happened (a few weeks ago), I thought about them and came up with this idea. There’s been a lot of support.” Maga would like to thank the Hamilton Harriers running club for their support. Pictured here, Maga gets ready before the run.
