Children's hospital patient William Blackmore and his mom Melissa (left) were the centre of attention during the opening of the Ronald McDonald Family Room at McMaster Children's Hospital. William and his mom were joined by local Ronald McDonald House executive director Pearl Wolfe (right), who led the drive for the room -- just the second across Canada.

Staff from Hamilton Health Sciences put the finishing touches on a Habitat for Humanity renovations last Saturday. This was Habitat Hamilton's first time renovating instead of building a new house.

Last Friday and Saturday, family and friends came together to celebrate cancer survivors and remember those who died of the disease at the eighth annual Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life at Dofasco Park.
