Congratulations to the SCMHA Midget AA team for winning the Tri-County Championship against Flamborough. The Warriors won the series in three straight games. The Dofasco Novice Steelhawks have done it again. Winning their second tournament of the year. This time they have captured the Alliance Select Championship in Fort Erie April 10 to 13. Earlier this year, the Steelhawks also won the Stoney Creek Winterfest Select tournament in January. This was a great way to end a successful season with the Steelhawks going undefeated in the tournament. They played another Hamilton team in the Chedoke Express, to a very exciting 3-1 final. The Saltfleet Figure Skating Club held its annual skating show April 4 and 5. The show celebrated some of the world's favourite musicals and was a culmination of another successful season for the club, its skaters, amateur coaches and volunteers. This year, the club welcomed Special Olympic athletes as the skaters for the annual ice show spectacular. The atom Wild team capped a fantastic season with a championship win against their close rivals the Capitals. Each player showed team spirit and gelled from the very start of the season. The team defence and goaltending was solid throughout the playoffs, as was the playmaking abilities of the forwards. The team's main goals were achieved, including learning the basics of the game, how to play together, making friends and having fun out on the ice. Thanks to all the kids, you were a special group this season. The coaching staff and parents are proud of all the kids for a wonderful hockey season.
