Arts & Entertainment
Apr 18, 2008

The Hill Park Alumni Association presents guitarist, singer, songwriter Kim Mitchell in concert at Hill Park Secondary School on Friday, May 2.

The event is a fundraiser for the Hill Park Alumni Association, with proceeds going back into the school for programs and facilities for students.

Mr. Mitchell's solo career began after his departure from Max Webster, a 1970s rock band.

In the mid-1980s, the song Go for a Soda from the Akimbo Alogo album became an international hit and has been featured in many TV shows. His most successful Canadian album was the follow-up, Shakin' Like a Human Bean, featuring Alannah Loves Me, Easy to Tame and the biggest hit of his career, Patio Lanterns. His eighth studio album, Ain't Life Amazing was released in the summer of 2007.

General admission tickets for this licensed (19) event are $30 and can be purchased at www.ticketweb.ca or at Pongetti Music (892 Upper James St.) or Shady Grove (592 Upper Wellington St.).
