Hamilton's first Social Justice Film Festival will be kick off April 24 at the Downtown Arts Centre, 28 Rebecca Street.

The premier film for the festival will be Sir! No Sir!, directed by David Zeigler. This film focuses on efforts by troops in the US military to oppose the war in Vietnam.

On May 1, the film festival will feature It's A Free World, directed by Ken Loach. On May 8, Alex Gibney's Taxi To The Dark Side will hit the screen. The final film of the festival May 15 is Mr. Big, directed by Tiffany Burns. False confessions, wrongful imprisonment. Brought to you by Canada's mounted police.

The $5 admission for these films will go towards various social agencies in Hamilton. All films start at 7 p.m.

This event is supported by the Hamilton-Wentworth Elementary Teachers' Local and the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation.
